Connecting people to mentors especially the youths is in the heart of our mission. Our interaction sessions encourage coming together of Black communities and award recipients to share in experiences and learnings in a friendly and relaxed environment on matters of mutual interest.
BDA Achievers Interaction is an exciting motivational session where achievers including recipients of Black Diamond Awards meet participants in informal forum, share their story, mentor and support participant. It is also a fight against crime by condemning crime and encouraging hard work, resilience and focus. The forum will discuss available career opportunities for all including for ex-convicts.

Family First
Family First Parenting addresses the culturally specific challenges Black men and women encounter raising children in a Canadian society or in their role as fathers, mothers or guardians. We intend to develop Family First Parenting with the capacity to respond to parenting issues by providing a range of professionals with the resources and skills to support our participants within and beyond their participation in our group.
We also aim to provide culturally based support for victims of crime, the youth of parents arrested and charged for criminal offences including youth enrolled in court-mandated programs. Parents of youth involved with the criminal justice system will have access to our services. Reference to parents include caregivers/fosters.
Family First Healthy Relationship addresses common challenges within intimate and family relationships among participants including intimate partner violence and separation, children and marriage, role of family members in a family. This program will be scaled to include community-based trauma-informed Family Mediation for the appropriate individuals in response to marital/relationship conflicts in the family unit. We plan to scale this activity by incorporating more open conversation of why people in marriages or relationships cheat, the triggers and solution, aggravating and mitigating factors including sexual and reproductive health.
Family First Reflection Sessions is an all-encompassing transformative healing circle which uses spiritual and traditional African supportive healing methods to manage various intersecting forms of trauma. This program has been scaled as a response to the current culture induced challenges men and women are facing in families.
